A friendly local shop with all you need for a visit to Skye!

Our ‘SUSTAINABILITY CHAMPION’ Award-Winning community shop stocks a wide range of groceries, including fresh fruit and vegetables, local produce and wholefoods as well as beer, wines and spirits, plus an impressive gluten free and vegan range. We purchase many products from small local businesses.

• Large Eco Refill section with flours, rices, seeds, nuts, dried fruits, herbs, spices, cleaning products and much more. Bring your own containers (or use ours) to buy just the amount you need.

• Lochalsh Butchers deliver meats on Tuesdays/Fridays.

• We offer hot and cold drinks and snacks and there is also a free water refill station in the foyer.

• Post Office (where you can withdraw money with a UK debit card).

• Filling Station (E5 Petrol/Diesel), Calor gas, coal, logs, kindling.

• Compost and local plants.

• Travel accessories – maps, insect repellent, sun cream and other everyday medicines.

Armadale Stores is at the heart of our community and supports many local activities, projects and groups. 

• Community Space – The shop’s foyer is a small but great space for the community to engage with the shop, the Community Trust and each other and we regularly offer the use of it free of charge in support of local charities and groups raising funds via bake sales, raffles, etc.

• Environment – No Waste Along with our wide range of packaging-free no waste goods, we offer a recycling facility for batteries, pill and tablet blister packs and toner cartridges

• Food Sharing Together with Sleat Community Trust, Armadale Stores founded the Sleat Food Shed in 2020 as both a food bank for locals in need and as a way to avoid food waste. Whenever possible staff at Armadale Stores leave excess food outside the shop at the end of the day or take it to the Food Shed.

• We also support the local Food Bank with our donation box.
