Welcome to Sleat!
We have a special Visitors' website www.visitsleat.org
and a Facebook page www.facebook.com/SleatperfectlySkye
The Visit Sleat tourism group was established in 2010 to promote the Sleat peninsula as a destination of choice for visitors to Skye. Following an extensive application to Visit Scotland’s Growth Fund, the group was awarded match-funding enabling the development of a high-quality website which included an interactive visitor map as well and full colour brochure promoting member businesses and a range of things to see and do in Sleat. Membership has steadily increased over time and in 2017 there are now more than 60 affiliated businesses.
Visit Sleat is a full member of SkyeConnect, the island’s newly established Destination Management Organisation with associate membership of the Scottish Tourism Alliance.
The organisation operates under the management of Sleat Community Trading Company Ltd, one of the two commercial arms of Sleat Community Trust with Rob Ware managing the group on a day to day basis. In 2017 approval was given by SCTCL to procure a new website to be developed in association with Skye Website Design of Portree, as the current site was built on now out-of-date technology and no longer mobile-device friendly. In addition, each year the colour brochure is revised reflecting membership changes and provision of new promotional photographs.
Membership rates for both brochure and website listings are £100.00 plus VAT, with self-catering businesses having an option to be only listed on the website. Visit Sleat invites all tourism related businesses in Sleat to join the group and be part of one of the most respected tourism groups in rural Scotland.
